3 beautiful girls and I started another blog!

Last weekend I spontaneously got to take 3 of our neighbor girls on a little photo shoot near our house. It was just about to pour, but we manged to get a few good ones before the rain started!

To see more, visit my new blog at http://www.picturesforapurpose.com/

I started it to have a place where I could post a few pictures of each family I take pictures of and to let others know about Pictures for a Purpose. For now it is simply a fundraising effort, but maybe someday it will turn into an actual business. I have A LOT more to learn before that happens though! I am working on making it look cuter, but don't have the time to mess with all that right now- so it's very basic.

Go ahead and check it out and let me know what you think.

Freeland Cousins

If you are thinking you have seen these kids before, you're right! Well, at least 5 of them anyway.
Yes, I had already captured the fabulous five on film only a few months ago, but I was excited to get a request from Grandma Freeland for a "cousin shot" while two of the cousins who live out of town were visiting this week. I was more than happy to help her out, and she helped us to be that much closer to bringing home our little girl... THANKS!

The Hurtado Family...a little late

I am a little behind on posting these days, but since I have posted at least a few pictures of every other family that I have taken pictures for, I did not want to forget about our new friends the Hurtados. I took these back in early December. They are new to our homeschool group this year after moving recently from down south and we have loved getting to know them these past few months. The kids are so much fun and energetic! Also, I think Makayla could be a model, with her beautiful long hair and pretty face!Isn't she beautiful?

4 Beautiful Girls

I had a super short and sweet time with the lovely Fong girls the other day.
It was pretty cold and no sun at all, but we managed to get a few giggles out of them- thanks to their mom who kept making silly faces behind my back :-). Aren't they beautiful? I expect to get a lovely Christmas card soon...

The fundraising is coming along- I am so excited to feel like I am doing something to contribute to the cost of the adoption, and even more excited when others join in too! Thanks everyone!!!

Meet Mia

Isn't she just the cutest?!

I got to take her pictures today (with mom and dad too, of course) and she was very easy to photograph- as long as I had my handy-dandy puppet close by she was all giggles!

Here's a little preview for mom and dad...

Thanks Vasquez family for helping us to bring home our Little Sister- You guys were great!

McMullen Family

I have been busy with the fundraiser photo sessions- everyone wanting a few good pictures for Christmas cards. I am enjoying learning something new each time and seeing how cute everyone dresses their kids!
Today I got to hang out with this sweet little girl, Olivia and her family.

Being the first grandchild, she's not exactly starving for attention. :-) Her grandma is our friend and administrator for our homeschool group and also a wonderful prayer warrior. I was so glad to be able to take their family pictures for them! Enjoy!

The Goorabian Family

I love this family! We used to be youth leaders with Leon and Lynda and I have good memories of fun times that we shared together. It was fun to be able to take their family pictures, but a little harder too. This was the first time I wasn't taking pictures with atleast one little kid in it, so I couldn't rely on my goofy face with my tongue sticking out or the old mom puts bunny ears on me trick!

I think the more serious look is in anyway, don't you?

And this one's for Drew. A senior at Buchanan who really did NOT want his picture taken. I think it turned out very good!

The Briner Boys!

Ok, so I'd really like to take credit for these amazing pictures- but I'm gonna just come right out and say it. These boys are awesome! They are SO photogenic and were VERY well behaved- every shot turned out really good! They were so much fun to work with- Dawson, the 3rd son especially- he was quite the poser (see last picture)!

If you want to see more on a really cool collage, go to their family blog: Briner Blip and click on the collage to see the pictures bigger. Thanks guys- you were awesome!

Pictures for a Purpose: The Wong Family

Last weekend I got to take some more pictures for our adoption fundraiser. This time it was our friends the Wongs- they did great and we had some fun too! If you don't know them yet- you should! They have a huge heart for orphans and have adopted their two youngest girls from China and are waiting to bring home another very special little boy as well hopefully this summer! Go TEAM WONG!
Oh, and even after all those kids, these two were still smitten with eachother when the kids ran off to play! Awww.

Pictures for a Purpose

Just wanted to share about our new fundraising idea that my friend, Brandy helped us come up with. I will take your family pictures for a donation of any amount to our adoption fund. You can donate as much or as little as you like and it will be tax-deductable as well, and most important of all you will get a chance to join us in bringing "Little Sister" home and be a part of the miracle of adoption! I am SO excited about this idea and just in time for Christmas card pictures too!

By the way, I am NOT a professional and in no way pretend to be. I am just a regular mom who likes taking pictures and has a pretty decent camera. I haven't even taken a class (but really want to soon!) If you want really wonderful pictures and you live in the area, I suggest you go here and here and here.
With all that said, my first "session" was last week with my friend's family. You may remember from a post awhile back that mentioned their trip to Russia to adopt their sweet little girl. Here are a few of my favorites:

If you are interested let me know. I will hopefully be able to get some more sessions soon!
