Legals!!!

Our agency called today to tell us they had received Elliana's legal documents and they would be sending them to us right away. This was very exciting news, because it was something we were told could take a month or even longer especially because she was born in an area not even close to Seoul. So imagine my surprise to find out they had arrived today, only a few days after we submitted our acceptance papers! One more step complete!

These papers are similiar to a birth-certificate. They are her family record and absolutley critical for her to be able to leave the country to be adopted. So now that we will have these by the end of the weekend, we can submit our I600 to the USCIS on Monday and get the ball rolling for things to be processed. The I600 takes anywhere from 2-6 weeks to be processed and then we might start getting a glimpse of when we could possibly travel. There are many many other things that will still need to happen both in the U.S. and in Korea after that, but from what I hear- this approval is the hardest in terms of not knowing how long it could take.
We are really hoping to be traveling near the end of June, but only time will tell how long it will actually be...
We'll keep you posted :-)

Wonderful news!! Each step brings you a little closer... and it sounds like things are moving along quickly for you, that is a huge blessing!!

Our I600 took about 6 weeks, but that was 2 years ago and I think it does vary by which USCIS office handles it.

Praying that all the paperwork goes smoothly the next few weeks -

Blessings,
Rebecca

such great news! God is so good!

I was wondering if I leave you my email if you could email me and let me know what agency you are going through? We have an adoption ministry at my church and there is a couple that wants to adopt from Korea and doesn't know where to start. The agency that we used does not have programs there so I don't know how to answer. It is crazy how God can work even through something so simple as a blog...

Wonderful news.... I know you can't wait to get her in your arms. I would love to chat with you about how this all worked out. We are using holt (wc) and had a few questions. I know you are busy but if you have time e-mail me rhea.wyatt@christian.kyschools.us and I will give you my phone # if that would be easier. Thanks for this and by the way... your daughter is ADORABLE!!! :)
