Thank you to all our dear friends and family who have been praying today. The Lord has indeed heard the prayers of His saints and today looked much brighter for everyone!
Including this cutie pie!!!
She woke up a happy girl and I made sure to capture it right away just in case. It was like she was a different baby! She let me feed her the bottles today which was a huge step. I think she was so hungry that she didn't care anymore who fed her! Still no baby food, but that's ok, one day at a time. It is a start.
Elliana did very well all day even when I would get right in her face and talk to her and tell her I love you. We got her to smile and even laugh a tiny bit this morning. It was wonderful.
We did all of our shopping today and I wore her the entire time in the carrier. Have I mentioned she loves that thing?! She loves to be close, yet look around at people and then she just falls asleep in it when she feels like it. It was well worth the purchase!
This evening while we were out she looked up at me and started crying again. Randy ended up carrying her back to the hotel and I got her bottle ready to feed her dinner. Well no such luck. Again she cried our for "Uh-muh" and it was the saddest thing. She refused to drink that bottle from me and then she fell back asleep again. I know it must be so much harder for her at night, when she wants to be comforted and fed a certain way. I know she won't starve, so I am just going to keep holding out! We are just so thankful that progress was made today. Thank you Lord!
Well, there is much more I could write about but the biggest thing on my mind right now is WE'RE COMING HOME!
YES! We leave our hotel tomorrow at 7:30 AM Korea time and our flight leaves at 11:00. We will arrive at LAX at 9:15 on Saturday morning California time and drive home soon after!
We are so looking forward to coming home and showing Elliana around her new house and room.
But we will all miss Korea I know. What an absolutely wonderful experience we have had here and Randy and I will never regret bringing our boys for a second. Austin even said yesterday that he could totally live here. :-) There are so many memories that we all share together now, the biggest one of course is becoming a family of 6. The boys have been here for both the good and the hard parts and I believe we have grown closer together because of it. I will treasure every moment we have spent here in this beautiful country and will share it all with Elliana someday as well.
We look forward to seeing all of you in the near future. Remember that it will take time before we will be ready to introduce her to new surroundings, therefore please be understanding and patient with us. I know she will love you and believe me, she is worth the wait!!!
Next time you hear from us, we will be back in Clovis as a family of 6!
A few photos of our happier girl today!
I love this. She is saying goodbye to her city...

How wonderful that it was a better day for Elliana...I'll continue to pray that she adjusts and completely attaches to you as her Mama soon!
It has been incredible hearing all about your trip of a lifetime! I wish I was in Korea today...hopefully soon!
Gorgeous photos, Candice! Thankful that you had a better day, and praying for a safe and speedy return trip :)
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4.6-7
What a beautiful girl!!! Happiness suites her very well. I will continue to pray for your family's adjustment. Have a safe journey home. I can't wait to see your first post after arriving home.
I'm glad things are looking up. I think it's wonderful you brought you sons along...what a great 'family' trip.
Yay! So happy she had a better day and you were able to see smiles again. What a precious girl she is! We miss you and can't wait to see you tomorrow night!
the howard family
What a great update! She will get there and she IS worth the wait. I love her hair. Both of my boys had that wispy hair, too cute.
Praying for a safe trip and that she just might sleep on the flight! So happy for you!
What beautiful photographs - your daughter is such a sweetie! And so glad to hear that you had a better day. Praying your trip home goes well!
Candace this makes me cry! I remember this same look in our daughters face. But very soon you will day by day see her change and become more of herself, and become more secure with her new surroundings. God has us be patient through this whole process, but the real patience are needed after our babies are home. I want to leave you with hope! My prayers are with you and poured over Elliana for God's comfort to overflow her, and his peace to complete her. It is hard to see them grieve, but it is something she must work through. God will give you and her strength!
Hi! I just found your blog from a post on (Hmmm... now I can't remember her name! Calen's mom...) - anyway, on her blog and saw that you all are from Clovis! My fam lives in Fresno and 1 yr ago we were making travel arrangements to go to Thailand to bring home our little boy! SO I'm gonna say a little prayer for you all for quick recovery from jetlag and for peace in the grieving for your little girl and the rest of you. It's so heartbreaking... But congratulations to you all!
